An iconic bamboo-themed pedestrian foot over bridge located near Taj Vivanta, Khanapara in Guwahati. Constructed by CanBoo in just 45 days, the project was implemented for Assam PWD, designed by Design Associates (Delhi) with bamboo structural consultancy by architect Priyam Ballav Goswami of Magnidus, Jorhat. The bridge stands as a landmark example of bamboo’s potential in urban infrastructure and sustainable design.

The bamboo‑themed foot over bridge near Taj Vivanta, Khanapara, had to meet the dual demands of rapid construction within 45 days and ensuring bamboo’s durability in an urban setting, while also proving its viability as a material for large‑scale infrastructure.
Our Approach
Through hybrid engineering and expert bamboo consultancy by architect Priyam Ballav Goswami, treated bamboo was integrated with modern structural systems, allowing Design Associates and CanBoo to deliver a landmark bridge that showcases bamboo’s potential in sustainable urban design while balancing speed, strength, and cultural identity.
